Prolific Imagery is the creation of Jeremy Gregory; an acclaimed musician, writer, artist, and photographer.
Capturing and documenting what is simultaneously heroic, tragic, haunting, and beautiful in the creation of a photograph that comes from using more than just the eyes is something I am enchanted by. Hence, I aim to capture the spirit of the soul in a true, candid and creative fashion in my work thorugh my passionate exploration of the disciplines of portraiture and still life.
I have always been fascinated by how lighting and shadows play sensually on the human body and how light interacts with nature, engaging the imagination of the viewer.
I like to craft shadows around my subjects with finesse, illuminating them enigmatically. My works are driven by a desire to captivate and seduce the viewer. I want those who gaze upon my photographs to be drawn in, losing themselves in its allure. Understanding that the mind is the most potent sexual organ, I enjoy toying with it—teasing and intriguing it. My aim is to transform perception through deeply engaging and powerful images, employing rich, dark liquid shadows and silhouettes that contrast with bursts of light and brightness. I blend shadows, grains, sepia tones, and washed-out colors to create evocative photographs that at times possess a vintage allure. I delight in transforming many of my photos into installations; creative shadow boxes and three-dimensional displays, adding layers of depth and dimension to further ensnare the viewer.
My Approach:
Collaboration is at the heart of my work. I thrive on developing concepts and themes in partnership with my subjects, encouraging them to contribute and expand on the initial ideas. By incorporating their favorite music into sessions, I create an environment where they can fully immerse themselves, resulting in more authentic and dynamic shots. My creative process is driven by a desire to think outside the box, push boundaries, and continuously explore and discover new perspectives.
